Remembering The Movies.....
The matinees at the old Glidden theatre, the trips to Carroll, Lake City and the Drive In. Yes, I am so old, that I remember the Carroll Drive In. I learned to love movies....Still do.....Almost every night, between 10-12 I watch an old movie. My favorites are the ones that I remember seeing at Glidden, Carroll and my favorite place, The Camelot in Lake City. What wonderful memories.  How many snowy Friday nights did we trek to Lake City to watch a movie?

I even remember the first movie I ever saw outside of Glidden. Mary Moorhouse or maybe Arlene Rudi took Steve, Fritz, Jim and myself (if I remember) to Carroll. She wanted to shop, so she dumped us off at the theatre. I will never forget the movie.....Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte.....We thought it was a lubby, dubby movie.....The first scene showed a boy, about our age, chasing a ball into an old house with covered furniture.....The kid goes in....finds his ball...turns and YIPES.....there is Bette Davis sitting there in the dark....Scared the poop out of him and us, too...You think Bette Davis is a little spooky?......What a scary movie....Anyway, I thought we could start a list of favorite movies we remember seeing at these theatres.

The Blob (Glidden)
The Time Machine (Glidden) Those Morlocks really scared me and I had to walk home afterward.
The Birds (Glidden)
The Alamo (Carroll)
All of the James Bond Movies (Lake City)
Bonnie & Clyde (Lake City)
The Longest Day (Lake City)
All of the Matt Helm Movies (Dean Martin) (Lake City)
Randolph Scott Westerns (Glidden)
Doctor Zhivago (Lake City) My all-time favorite.
Help (the Beatles) (Carroll)
Man's Favorite Sport (Glidden)
Bullet (Lake City)
Guide For A Married Man (Lake City)
Pink Panther Movies (mostly in Carroll)
